Lauren Live @The Lane: July 5, 2012 – 5:00 pm SLT

Lauren was born on Sandbox Island on October 1, 2006 into a relatively modest family. Poorly educated and half naked she was turned out into the world, unable to learn the craft of building or scripting, Lauren instead made watercress sandwiches for those that could build and entertained them with her jokes. Since then she has moved on and performed at dozens of Clubs, Corporate Events, and enumerable Benefits, written and performed in Theater Plays, and maintains a regular show night at her club “Lauren’s Place” on Cookie Island.

She has one child Lula. In a quirk of SecondLlife she lives in the sim Old Wives although she has never been married. When not working on comedy Lauren can be found landscaping at her home, making a gourmet meal or just kicking back on her dock reading a good novel. She is also writing an autobiography called, “Beneath The Skin: Second Life Exposed” and ” Laughter – The orgasm you don’t have to worry about if your partner is finished.”

If you have anything you would like to contribute to our Newsletter, contact Firery Broome or Reggier Rimbaud ….

*** Darsh and Derek are hatching plans for a fun aerial show event, could very well be the first of its kind in SL. if all agree with the idea, Derek will be happy to work on it. All who would like to help Darsh and Derek please let Derek know.

*** The Punk Event is going ahead. It will be on July 7th at Social Scene Sim, with our team RFL boards out, 11am – 10pm slt. Featuring LG DJs vali, rask and Trash Deluxe.

*** There have been a number of conversations about what will happen to our happy home and group if SL ever disappears -Not to worry- there is always plan B. Use the blog to find out about plan B should SL ever go away and we need to use it

*** State of the Blog update:
The Blog is starting to look better. I have updated most of the regular DJ info but still need info from Lum. Also need shop info from Darsh and a gallery blurb from Loq. I used old info from Barely, if it has been updated he needs to get me the info. (NAGGING)

*** Hobo History Pages
We NEED THEM this is going to go on the to-do list

*** Lollygagger Group Clean-up
With all the troubles we are having with notices of late maybe it is time we had a look at the group and clean up some of the members. Maybe delete some and have a serious look at roles and stuff like that. There are issues with notices going out/being received with over 500 members. Also, there was discussion of a “subscribe o matic” type system being used. People could opt in or out as they choose and delivery is much more reliable.

*** Relay Update
Relay weekend starts July 14th. We will be building there a lot once the sims are delivered.

*** Reminder if anyone here is a survivor of, or care giver to, someone with cancer you can sign up for the honor walk at relay if you care too. In the past others have walked without signing up. You have to do it today or tomorrow though to be on the official list.

*** We have a new resident living on the lane now in the blue cabin his name is Baylen. Please welcome him and make him feel at home when you see him.

*** The detailed discussion of pubic hair …. Is well, maybe best left to your imagination. You never know what you’ll miss if you don’t attend the meeting!

*** Derek gave an Update on upcoming music events. “As you know the Follow are here in July to do a video show, and i have been looking for an opening act… well…may have found a rather good RL™ act called YUM who may be willing to come online as openers.”

***New all world time keeper clock map has been added to the bar. Just click on an area of the world and it will display the time for that area of the world.

Lollygagger Meeting notes 2012-06-23

We have about 3 more weeks till relay weekend and still trying to get some ideas for a few more Lane RFL events.

Asked Blane about that Fight Club idea he mentioned a few weeks ago and he is indeed still interested in pursuing it. He will be picking up the needed kit and we will test it out to see how easy it is to work. If it is we will move forward with the event which will prob. be on a Sunday. Chrisssy will be the ring girl, sporting a bikini and ring numbers.

Trash is still working out the details of the punk event. It seems that punks are a testy bunch. Along with the punk music event she also mentioned a fund raiser primsumption session. She was thinking it would be an easy session. We will get together to work out those details. But please let Trash know if you are willing to offer some help with it.

Rask and Derek will be putting on their speedos and walking a lap for every 5000 L’s raised on their special challenge donation vendor. Come on all you know you want to see Derek and Rask in their near to birthday suits! Look for the board to arrive near the bar in the next few days.

Anyone interested in putting freebies in the freebie shop should contact Rask. He is overseeing that project. It is on his list of things todo and I am sure he would like to have that checked off the list. Contact him when you can and he will let you know where they should go, or set you up with rez rights.

Iumy said someone was around the lane looking for hobo’s to support Arcadia Asylum. Not sure in what way, but be aware that someone has been around. If anyone has anymore info please pass it along and we will put in newsletter.

Takni has a build at the sl b-day. It is great you must get there to see it!

And it just so happens that our very own Derek will be doing a set Sunday, June 24 at 4:00pm slt at the cake stage􀀷

For all those who were worried about why Rask was not at the meeting, he was at a RL b-day party.

I hope you read this Newsletter down to the last line, there WILL be a test. If you don’t pass, we will be forced to eject you from the Lollygagger Group. If you don’t agree with this policy, IM Derek Sienkiewicz, it was his idea 😉

Storefronts, stalls, and cabins on the beach: many choices available at Lollygagger Lane.
Stores or Beach Cabins: 350 per week, 35 prims􀀵
Street Stalls also available at a discounted rate.􀀴

*** Tier cost and how you can donate tier:
Tier cost is $120 a month!! This payment falls to Firery, and some LG property may have to be sold off to lower the tier. Many more Lindens are spent on Live Entertainment, as well as items purchased for building and decorating. Donate to LG whenever you can, tip jars are at various places throughout the Lane. If you don’t have Lindens, but are a paid member to SL, you can donate your tier and it won’t cost you anything. Contact Firery Broome to find out more.

Frogg n’ Jaycatt Live

Their repertoire consists of mostly original material and a few selected covers, composed of a mix of piano, guitar, vocals, and harmonica. Their eclectic mix has been described as acoustic organic folkjazz. As singer/songwriters they have produced a comprehensive range of heartfelt and memorable melodies and poetically lyrical songs. Their musical influences range from Mannheim Steamroller, Simon and Garfunkle, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, and even Frank Zappa.

Frequency Picnic @ The Lane, Wed, June 20, 4 PM

Location for these events:

06-16 Lollygagger Lane Meeting
There were 18 attendees to the meeting. Firery talked about having more fun events:
• a theme night: On Friday at 5 for an hour and then an after party DJ event to follow. The consensus was “let’s do it!”
• a lane news letter: send it out every weekish, much discussion ensued. We’ll try it and see what the response is.
• lots of ideas for tasks around the place get forgotten about and left undone cuz we don’t have someplace to remind us. If there are tasks to do we will keep a list of them and check them off when they get done. Firery may make a shared doc on the web that some can add to and check off.
• we now have a very nice street sign, Rask will ad arrow signs with teleport scripts to the event stage, art center and more.
• music on the lane: let us know if there are people out there that you think will fit in. send us (Firery, Derek, Reggier) names on NCs. Nad Gough was suggested by many. Dual streaming Ziffy Zarf and Noma Falta is a posibility.
• Reminder: if you think of good DJ’s that would go with a theme night, pass them along in a NC to Derek or Reggier.
• a big thank you to everyone for their great efforts in getting last week’s RFL show running, we generated about 80,000L$.
• next week sees some of the LG and Hobo DJs and performers over at SL9B, the celebration of SL’s 9th birthday…18th to 25th June.
Visit the Lollygagger build:

• the Lindens finally changed the LM of the lane in the destination guide to current location, so we might get more visitors, and also more demand for shop renters.
• The meeting ended in a fist fight and Rask demanding someone “sit on his prim”. Derek, of course, did it. And promptly broke it.

New signs at the Lane

We added signposts to the Lane in order to make it easier to find different locations. The signpost works as a landmark giver and the arrow signs work as a teleporter when you sit on one. So from now on lazy lollygaggers don’t have to walk nor fly no more!

Relay For Life and the Lane

Hey did you know that the Lane has a Relay For Life Team? Its made up of Hobos, Lollygaggers, Hot Stilt Bitches, and friends!

The Team

If you’re interested in joining the group please let us know and we will be happy to add you.  While we are a pretty laid back team, we do have some fundraising events between March and July.  Team members are expected to help out during these events in some way. No skills are too small to be of use to the group!

We welcome all to our group as is our hobo way. Also true to Hobo we are an international group and our team members come from across the globe. Be aware that the Relay is a VERY G rated event and The American Cancer Society takes their brand seriously, so we are always in our best G behavior.

If you are too busy to be on the team full time but would like to help out in some way?  You can still help, by donating items for sale in our team vendors,  or if you are a musician you could donate your talent when we have events on the Lane.  All proceeds will go to our team fundraising total. If you own land, and have some extra prims, you might consider hosting a few of our donation kiosks or team vendors and/or advertise our fundraising events.

The team has an official team web site on the official ACS  Relay For Life web site. Here team members can create  their your own web page within our team’s space. In your space you can set your own personal fundraising goals.  Once you have created you page, you can send your real life friends and family who are not in SL to the web to make donations to your personal goal and the team’s goal too!  If you prefer not to have your own page that is fine too, just send them to the the Walking Tall For A Cure team web page to make a donation.

Grand Re-opening Images

While I suffered from a major case of the crashies for most of the event, I was able to stay in  both Sat. & Sun for the group photo. Here’s a link to Inga Wind’s great shots. In case you miss it, the theme is Inga’s sparkly red dress. We all looked fabulous!

Fun was had by all, the music was great, the people come and enjoyed it and the new land.
Thanks Organizers for all the hard work getting all the details together for the fun time.
Thanks Lane Artists for being willing to show your work!
Thanks Creators for donating to the freebie hunt.
It takes a LOT of hard work to but on a 3 day event and create a fun experience for all to share in.

Thanks to our visitors old and new for the really nice comments about the new Lane.
We look forward to seeing you at more events, both large and small.

And, a HUGE thanks to all of you who dropped some Ls into the Venue poster.
We will be using that fund to bring you more great music soon.

Now stop your reading and get on over to have a look at the photos!
