News & Events for this week at The Lane:

Thursday, July 19

2PM: Meet at the RFL campsite for a bus run and tour around the track, vehicle provided and driven by Darsh. After, we will tear down the Lollygagger build. Souvenir pieces of the build will be on sale for $1000L !!! Really. I’m pretty sure. Derek said so.

From the Primperfect Blog: The most striking build here rises above you as you enter. The cathedral of scaffolding built by the Walking Tall for a Cure team. A skeletal cathedral of steel bones with a simple handless clock face.

4 PM: DJ Barely Texan

Fabulously Fun Friday, July 20

1 PM: Nad Gough
Here’s what Nad has to say about himself:” I’m a computer generated character who sings to backing tracks I make on my puter. I like to re-arrange oldies, and put weerd noises in em and I do original tunes too and stuff. I sorta sound like when yer listenin to AM radio during a thunderstorm and ya go thru a tunnel and next to you is this big ol dump truck with a bad muffler and yers aint all that hot either, sorta.” He’s a hoot, that’s for sure!

2 PM: The Follow
The Follow has enjoyed sharing stages with various artists such as Plain White T’s, Billy Corgan’s Zwan, & Gravity Kills. With seven albums, one DVD, and hundreds of live performances, The Follow received airplay on college and commercial radio across North America while supporting the releases by touring in the United States and Europe.

3-5 PM: DJ Doxie

5 PM: Club Crawl/Theme Night
This weeks theme is ROCK STAR !!!
There have been some requests to hold this earlier to accommodate our Euros. We could probably move it to 4 PM without much problem. A problem we are running into is that there is very little selection of live music at this time (before 6 PM) and day of the week. AND, It is quite often the same musicians playing week after week, which further cuts down on the selection. Some say bad music is part of the fun. Others complain from start to finish. We may have to consider branching out to other forms of entertainment. Please voice your opinions. Also, if anyone is interested in taking a turn at hosting the Crawl, please let me know.
